Cleaning in Real Life

Welcome back friends and family. Hope everyone had a great weekend.  Let's talk about how much we hate to clean. I haven't met many people who actually enjoy cleaning their house. It's a never ending process, especially if you have kids or pets.  I am fortunate enough to have a husband who helps with cleaning. Actually, he cleans better than I do.  My husband and I on one of our many hiking trips Here is a list of 5 things I do to help keep a clean house.  1. Spend at least 20 minutes a day picking up the small things of clutter around the house.  2.  Make a chore list for the family.  3. Take the extra time and steps to put an item where it belongs vs. just laying it down.  4. Get the dishes done before going to bed every night.  5. Wipe down all counters before bed.  Our chore chart that I made and change weekly In an ideal world these things will be done everyday, but life happens. Sometimes I am not able to do some of...

Keep Those Teeth and Bathrooms Clean

Welcome back friends and family.  I wanna share this great idea with you all.  We all share the bathroom in our house.  We have a second "master bath" but it's no bigger than a closet and there is no room to get ready in there.  We only use it for the shower.  So this family of 4 shares one bathroom to get ready in the morning.  Fortunately for us, we all have different schedules and are not all trying to get in the bathroom all at the same time.  One of my pet peeves is the amount of yuck when it comes to teeth brushing.  There is the waste of using paper cups, or using the same cup over and over again (YUCK), the spit being on the counter, toothpaste somehow being on the wall and floor, the mouthwash spilling everywhere.  I decided enough was enough.  I found that if you put the mouthwash in a soap dispenser and use 6 pumps it dispenses the perfect amount of mouthwash and there is no spilling.  I found the soap dispenser at ...

A Tip to Help With Chaotic Cleaning

Today we are gonna combine cleaning with a little crafting.  How many of us, while cleaning house, find things that belong in the kids rooms or the living room or the bathroom or even your room?  Well, in this post I'm going to show you how I've taken steps to combat this because this drives me crazy when I already clean like I have ADHD. Now I'm not saying anything negative about ADHD because both my kids have been diagnosed with ADHD so I understand how this can affect someone and their lives. I'm simply saying that when I clean I cannot stay focused on a task because I'm constantly picking things up and going to another room where I see something else that needs to be done and I start working on that, etc. I then forget to go back and finish what I've already started. I still struggle with this every time I clean but this little tip/trick has helped a lot. I also call this "Chaotic Cleaning". I have found these great...
